Thank You Teacher!

Happy Sunday all!
Fed up of me yet today???
Where did that week go??
We were off & had a couple of days away, did a few things & then woosh, here we are Sunday again!
On to business then!
This week at The Crafty Pad it's Challenge #123 & we have a recipe for you!
Use 3DP's, 2 Ribbons & 1 flower! get it? 123 lol
Here without further ado is my card!

We are sponsored this week by the lovely Michelle over at Michelle's Scraps

Michelle is very kindly offering a $15 gift voucher for her store

With half term coming up, we the DT ladies were asked to use one of the fab
Incidentally there is a sale on at The Crafty Pad Designs, at the moment!

30% off all the FAB Digi Stamps
The sale runs until the 2nd June so be sure to get on over & stock up on all your digi stamps!
I have once again opted for an easel card! Somebody stop me!!! lol
I used white linen textured card from Southfield Stationers for my base card.

The layout was my own & the papers are digital from the Two Peas In A set from
I printed the image & the sentiment at actual size!
I used promarkers to colour & matted the image onto some coordinating card! I used a corner punch to give a bit of detail!
The papers were all matted & layered on to coordinating card too!

Now technically you could say I used two flowers but as I have layered them I'm counting them as one!

I wrapped my first ribbon round the easel section & secured by tying a bow. I than added the flower on top with some pinfliar glue. The centre of the flower is a piece of card candy!

I cut out the sentiment with my Nellie Snellen Frames die the matted onto a piece of coordinating card which was cut out using a scalloped circle nestie.
The stop was the whole matted & layered section at the front of the easel base.
The second ribbon was intended to make the sentiment section look like a tag & I threaded it through one of the holes on the frame shape but clumsy old me pulled too hard & burst the section! At that point I decided to cut my losses & add it as a bow!
Thanks for looking at my card! I do hope you like it!
It's for my great niece to give to her nursery teacher at the end of  term as she goes up to big school then!
Hope you can find time to enter the challenge over at The Crafty Pad this week!
I'm off to find some challenges to enter my card in to!

Happy Birthday Princess

UPDATE! I'm delighted to say I won 3rd prize in the Craftystash comp! Whoop whoop!
Debbie will be launching a new comp next week I'll let you know all about it ASAP!
Hi everyone, I hope you are all well!
The first card I have to share with you today is my entry for the monthly competition over at
The theme this month is spots & stripes.
You must use one of  Deborah Lauder's (site owner) downloads.
There are loads of downloads to choose from including templates for all sorts of different shaped cards with fancy folds!
There are also a great number of free downloads which you can use too!
As well as her own website, Debbie's downloads are also available @ Card making Downloads.
(You will need an account at one of the stores to enable you to download!)
If you fancy a go at winning one of the fab prizes on offer, you still just about have time to do it!

Very generous, I'm sure you'll agree!

For this card I used the Birthday Princess download!
The colours are just perfect for a little girl I know who loves pink but is not all frilly pinky girly!

For the base card I used a sheet of A4 pink cardstock and cut to size.
The DP's I have used are included with the download I think there are 4 in total!
(Makes it soo easy as you don't have to go searching for something to match up!)
Debbie has included lots of little detailed decoupage bits for the more experienced crafter but if you are a beginner you can use just the bigger sections!
I cut out the decoupage with my trusty scissors & layered up using pinflair glue.
I matted & layered the sections on to contrasting papers /card.

I added some black ribbon & a few gems strategically placed. I also added a couple of punched butterflies(made using my Martha Stewart punch)
I used the layered up sentiment as the stop!
Not sure if you can make it out but the little flowers are layered up too.

This was such a fun card to make!
Thank you for looking & I hope you can find time to enter the comp!
There are some fab prizes on offer!

ATC's

Just had to share a set of ATC's with you!
These were made for the swap over at Card Making Downloads!
The theme was inspired by a song and I just couldn't help myself!
Here they are! Can you guess the song?

I'm sorry that the pics aren't great but the light was poor when I took them!

Here's the story behind them, a bit of a giggle really!
My Neice & her long term partner had been together for years & years.
After having two little furry baby doggies for a while, they decided to move on to the human baby variety!
The baby is due next month!
Next thing we know, we get a text to say that they had only gone & got married in secret!
Well, you could have knocked me down with a feather! David was fairly adamant that he was not the marrying kind & they were happy as they were or so we thought!

So, have you guessed the song yet???
Well, you may have to be of a certain age to get it! lol

I must emphasise the fact that in no way was it a shotgun wedding but could I get that song out of my little head!!! LOL
The sheets were made up for me by Elliza, one of the ladies on Card Making Downloads after I put out a call for an image of a bride in the family way!
I had made the card & posted it off before I remembered I should have taken a picture!
Ooopsy, silly me!
Never mind, at least I could share these with her! I made them with the scraps from the card!
The papers were a freebie from Joanne Barsby last year, not sure if you can still get them!
The rest of the stuff is from my stash! The silver "You're invited" is from a peel off sheet!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you like them & you see the funny side!

Only A Rose......

Good morning all & a Very Happy Monday to you all!
There is a good reason I'm so chirpy today!
I'm on holiday! YAY!
Not off to anywhere exotic unless you consider Newcastle exotic that is! lol

As it's Monday, it's time for another DT card for My Grafico, where it's ALWAYS Anything Goes!

This week the DT were given the Tudor Rose Stamps Set

from  Mel's Brushes  to work with!

Such a versatile set, you could use it for many occasions!
As I had an Anniversary Card to make, I chose that as my theme!
I chose this image as I felt the two stems going to one flower signified a union, perfect for an anniversary card!

I used the sketch from Create 4 Fun Challenge for my layout!

My card base was made from a sheet of A4 red cardstock.
I mixed up the sketch layers & turned it around!
I hope you can still recognise it!

The image was coloured with Promarkers I cut it into a rectangle & rounded the corners with a punch!
I then matted on to the DP, from cardmaking downloads & then onto some red cardstock!

The circle was cut out with a Scalloped Circle Nestie on the Big Shot.

To finish off,I added some red yellow & green gems for a bit of detail & bling!
I hope you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by! I really do appreciate it!
I'd like to put this card forward for the following challenges
2 Sisters Use A Digi
Secret Crafter Anniversary

Sunday & No Work Tomorrow!

Hi all, it's Sunday & I'm on my hols for a week!!!
Not going away anywhere fancy, so I say, but we are having a trip to the Metrocentre, Newcastle Upon Tyne & a night on Lindisfarne, Holy Island.
In fact, all going well we're there by now!
Earlier this week I let you see a sneak peek of my GDT card for the Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog!
Now here's the whole thing!

The Challenge is a sketch, mixed media, so it can be a card, canvas, layout or anything else you can apply it to!
We were given the choice of two sketches to work from

I chose the first one. We also had the choice of two sets from The Cutting Cafe' who are sponsoring the challenge,"It's About That Time" & "One Spring Day"
I chose "It's About That Time" as you may have already noticed as
over at Daring Cardmakers the challenge this week is to be inspired by the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol ( Let's waste time chasing cars around our heads..........)

I chose the clock image & the large circle sentiment from the set.
I don't have a cutting machine, so I relied on just my trusty scissors & dies.
As the clock face was black, I was inspired to use black & white for my card!
The papers I have used are Dovecraft, they're called Charcoal Prints by Sandra Ranarison & they have been in my stash for ever!
(One of my resolutions at New Year was to try to use up some of my old stash this year & I think I'm doing okay so far!)
I cut out the clock face using my trusty decoupage scissors. The circle sentiment was cut using a scalloped circle nestie & then my Nellie's frame die.
I used black card to back the cut out circle & mounted the clock face in the centre with foam tape.

I followed the sketch & added some lace. I then mounted the sentiment on foam tape to give added dimension.
The other sentiment was from a sheet of peel off's that just appeared from nowhere when I was working! Must've been in between some papers or something! I thought the phrase went perfectly with my card so I stuck it to some white card, matted & layered onto more black & white card & mounted on foam squares.
To finish I added some large self adhesive gems.

I decided to decorate the inside of the card a little, It's just a little bit more interesting than a plain insert!
Thanks for looking, I do hope you like it.
Have you noticed, there's not a Promarker in sight! lol
Pop on over to Quirky Crafts & join in with the challenge if you have time! Don't forget to check out the DT blogs too & leave them some love!

Daisy, Daisy......

Happy Sunday everyone!
Time for another Challenge over at The Crafty Pad!
I think you'll like this one!
Challenge #122 is Lace & Bows
We want to see Lace & Bows on your project!
Here's my card

Our kind sponsor this week is...........

They are offering a prize of 3 digi images of winners choice from their shop.

The image I have used is Fairy Chloe on Daisies from The Crafty Pad Designs.

Pop on over to the shop & see the range for your self!
The image is coloured with Promarkers & cut out with a nestie.
I added glitter to the wings & the centre of the daisies.
As you can see I opted for an Easel Card! I love making these!

The base of the easel card was made using an A4 sheet of white textured card which I scored & folded it in half then cut into a square. I cut a square the same size from another sheet for the card front.
I cut 2 smaller squares from plain coloured card then another 2 slightly smaller again from my design paper.
I matted the paper squares onto the plain card then wrapped a length of daisy edging lace around each piece.
I then attached these to the card base & front.

I used the sentiment ticket, also from The Crafty Pad, which I coloured with promarkers & added some glitter to, for the stop!

I added some flowers which were a bit glittery too!
Thanks for popping in! I hope you like it!

Don't forget to join in the Lace & Bows Challenge if you have the time! I have a feeling that this one is going to be very popular indeed!
