Just to Say Hi & A Very Happy New Year!

Thought I'd just stop by whilst tidying up my blog & giving it a change of clothes! Sorry, I don't have a card to share I'm afraid as I've spent quite some time looking for some nice pics of the family to go into Mum's locket! I've finally managed to get that done, I just hope she's happy with it!
I would like to wish you all a very prosperous 2011! I know that 2010 has not been the best of years for many people so hopefully that will all change for the better!
Hogmany looks set to be a fun event in the centre of Edinburgh. Earlier on we heard Biffy Cliro rehearsing up in Princes Street Gardens!
I personally am seeing out this year with a dreaded lurgy hanging about & I'm due to have a house full of people on the 1st! Hope I can stay awake long enough to keep them entertained! Lol
Can I also take this opportunity to welcome my 2 new followers Stacie and fleur thanks for stopping by!

Have fun everyone & take care!

An Old Card For A New Comp

Mum's Birthday Card

Good morning all or is it afternoon??
It will be afternoon by the time I've finished posting! Lol!
I wanted to share this card with you just one more time as I've entered it in the Dec/Jan Comp over at Craftystash.
Debbie has asked that we share a favourite project from 2010! See below for details:-

This competition is very different from all of the others we have hosted, whereby I don't actually want you to make a new craft project to enter! instead I would like you to share with us your favourite project that you have completed in the year 2010.

There are no rules whatsoever - it doesn't even have to be made with a Craftystash download, it could be your favourite stamp, a scrapbook page, even your own design, I would just like to see what has made you say 'Wow! that's good!'

I think we are sometimes too quick to criticise our own crafting endeavours, however we do occasionally think 'Yeah! that's just right! :)

So if you wouldn't mind sharing the creation of 2010 which made you smile, we would just love to see it :D

Simply upload your photograph to our gallery with brief details of what makes this sooo special - it could be due to how it made you feel when you made it, or the gratitude you were shown from your loved ones.

If you do not wish to create a gallery account but would still like to enter our competition, please email your entry to me before the closing date and I will add your entry for you.

You can see my original post about this card here!

Happy Boxing Day

Good morning all!!! I trust you all had a lovely Christmas day with family & friends as I did!

I thought I'd share with you a little card that I made in around 15 minutes on Christmas eve!

The card is for my great nephew who's birthday is on Christmas Day! As usual, I was running short of time. There is always soooo much to do on Christmas eve! Fortunately I remembered this great waterfall download  which I purchased from Scrapbookingmad ages ago. It's called Horse Mad Boy and is designed by Sammy Murphy. You can purchase it here. Oliver has inherited his mothers love of all thing horsey, so I thought this would fit the bill perfectly! As I was so short of time I decided to keep it really simple!
The download comes complete with 2 backing papers. I used the plain blue for the base card & the checked one to matt the waterfall onto. I mounted the waterfall using foam pads which I feel gives a bit of room to allow the waterfall action. I added a couple of peel off corners and number 4's along with a Happy Birthday peel off. I used a silver self adhesive triangle gem type thingy for the pull & added some card candy that I got from a friend a while back!
I was quite pleased with the result & I have it on good authority that he loved it too, so all is well! Thanks for saving the day Sammy!
I have entered this card in the December competition over at the Cardmaking Downloads forum, where the theme is any card any theme as long as it's made with something purchased from Cardmaking Downloads or Scrapbookingmad.
