Happy Monday all!
Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to work for me!
I know a lot of you will be having a lie in as I believe it's a bank holiday!
At least I'm not back to my normal work place, I have a bit of a later start as I'm on a course!
Anyhoo!!!
As you all most probably know, Monday is the day that the My Grafico DT ladies post their cards.
Here's Mine!
This week we were given the fab Steampunk Style Digital Stamps Set
from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff to work with.
I printed off the bicycle (A Penny Farthing) image, cut it to shape, sponged with Distress ink in antique linen then & matted & layered onto black & white paper..
The base card I used was a square cut from an A4 sheet.
The Vintage Sheet Music DP I have used was a freebie
also from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff
I added Bicycle text (the words from the Queen song) to the paper using a font called 1942 Report. It looks like it's been done on an old typewriter. The font was free to download & I found the link for it on
Lyns blog. Spyder's Corner (check it out she has tips freebies tut's & more!)
I used the same font for the sentiment!
As I added the typed text, I thought I should add the typewriter too!
I simply cut it out with a scalloped circle nestie then matted onto a larger circle.
The typewriter & the sentiment were mounted using foam tape for a bit of dimension.
The only other additions were the two buttons, threaded with string.
Thanks for looking!
I hope you like it & I'm sure you'll find time to enter the Monthly Challenge (at least once) over at

This really caught my eye on Make It Monday. It's fab and I just love this style at the moment. The distressing looks great and that font is just perfect.

Great vintage card. What a shame that as technology arrived, style and elegance (the typewriter here)disappeared. Mind you easier on the wrists than this old clonker!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in the fun at Lexi's Creations.
