Think Pink! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Last month I did some  fundraising for
 Breakthrough Breast Cancer

I had my head shaved & ran a couple of card making challenges!
As a result of this, I heard stories from many people about how they
or a  loved one had been touched by Breast Cancer!

I was so touched by some of the stories, I felt I wanted to send a card.
This is one of the cards I made!

The image & the sentiment are part of a set from

Here's a closer look at

Breast Cancer Awareness Girl Set

I coloured the image with a combination of my 

Promarkers & Flexmarkers

The sentiment is one of several included.

I distressed it a bit, cut it out with a Spellbinders Die 

& threaded some lace through it.

I punched some flowers using my Tonic Punches

 & layered them up adding a gem to the centre of each.

October New Releases at The Crafty Pad

Good Morning all!

I hope you're all well!

It's time for the new October New Release Post at 

The Crafty Pad

The image I chose to work with is the 

Christmas Bauble Set in Gold & Silver

As you can see, I used the gold!

The sentiment & the border are part of the set.

My card is Clean & Simple & will easily go in the post 

with an ordinary letter stamp!

I printed the image onto some card & added some sparkle

with my Sakura, Clear Star pen. 

Then matted onto some Gold Mirri Board.

The card base is an A6 

I wish you could see just how much it sparkles

 but it's so hard to capture with the camera!

Believe me I tried! lol

I hope you like my little offering!

I did decorate the inside with some Mirri Board but I 

was so intent on capturing the sparkle, I forgot to take a photo!

I did consider further embellishments but decided against it!

It's Wednesday & that means super new challenge at 

Dude Time Doodles!

The theme this week is

Home Improvements (with the tool man!)

Here's my card!

I made a 6x6 inch card base from my brand new Kraft cardstock.

It's pretty CAS as my stash is still packed up in boxes!

One day we'll be finished with all the DIY & redecorating here!

The image I have used is Pierre Painter, he's a real perfectionist & when

 he's decorating it takes him forever to do the cutting in! lol

I coloured him up with my Promarkers

I made the sentiment in my graphics programme.

I added some ink distressing to the edges.

I decorated the inside of my card a little.

The DP I've used is a freebie from Mujka Chic @ My Grafico.

The Ric Rac has been in my stash forever, I had loads of it!
I think it's from Anita's I'm so glad to finally be using it up!

Flowers Lace & Pearls!

It's a lovely Sunday morning & it's time for the latest challenge at 

The Crafty Pad! The theme this week is

Challenge #190 Floral

Here's my card!

I used the TCP - Flowers For Mum image (one of my many favourite's)

and For Someone Special Sentiment Ticket

The design is once again fairly simple as I am still crafting where I can 

in my topsy turvey mid decoration house! lol My stash is still packed 

in boxes all over the place & I can't find a thing!

I coloured the image with a combination of 

Promarkers & Flexmarkers

The cotton lace & twine are part of a gift I received recently 

from the USA, aren't they beautiful!

I added a few self adhesive pearls which I think are from Meiflower

I decorated the inside of the card too & I 

couldn't resist adding a piece of twine!

The DP I have used is from a free download called

Paper Daisies by Sugar Plum Paperie!

Welcome To My Challenge!

Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Think Pink,
not just a little use a lot!

This is a card I created previously, you can read about it here

If you read my Saturday post, You'll know what this is all about!

Around 18 months ago my Mum found a lump under her arm,
she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer & had had surgery followed by Chemotherapy,
she's now on her second type of Chemo & has Radiotherapy to look forward to!
Her journey has been a tough one with lots of setbacks along the way but she has
remained positive & strong beyond belief along the way!

As a result of Chemo, my Mum has lost her hair.

I have been so moved by the experience & by how many people in the world
have been affected in one way & another by this terrible disease, that I decided
I just had to do something about it!
So, I'm having my head shaved on Saturday 8th September 3.30pm
@ The Out Of The Blue Drill Hall, Edinburgh
to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer!
