This is Axel Lumberjack & he's a hard-working chap with a heart of gold!

If you want to know a little more about my card read on!

I coloured Axel up with my trusty Promarkers then cut him out

The base card is an A6 Landscape.

I printed the background photo onto glossy photo paper 

 then matted it on to some white card.

The sentiment was made on the computer using Lumberjackfred font

which you can download for free here!

I cut it out with a nestie & inked with distress ink while it was still in the die!

The inside of the card has a paper insert, sorry I forgot to get a photo.

 It simply says "Be My Valentine"

I've also added a little uncoloured image of Axel just for fun!

Enter The Dragon

Hi folks,

I have a little Chinese New Year card to share with you today!

I had to make a couple of these, but as they were for totally unrelated parties, 

I was able to use the same design for both! 

 A great time saver!

I trawled the internet looking for a suitable image to use but I just

couldn't find anything I liked.

Then I remembered Dilbert Dragon from The Crafty Pad Designs!

He's a cute little dragon is he not!!!

I didn't intend to go cute but there you have it!

I couldn't stop singing "Puff The Magic Dragon" as I was making these!

I made the sentiment up in my graphics programme

then added Dilbert to the centre.

The base card was cut using a Grand Scalloped Circle Nestie which I 

then scored & folded in half!

I cut a smaller scalloped circle of gold mirror card with a regular nestie.

I cut Dilbert out using an Inverted Scallop nestie & inked the edges.

The image was coloured with Promarkers & I added a touch of Glamour Dust

to Dilberts wings &  horns!

I added a couple of Oriental Peel off's which are supposed to represent water,

also a feature of this Chinese New Year I am informed.

The numbers were die cut but I can't remember the name of the alphabet!

I'm On Strike!

Good Morning all!

How's the weekend going??? 

I can't believe how hectic this year has been so far!

Still it's good to be busy, right???!!

So, how about getting busy with this weeks challenge over at 

The Crafty Pad!

The theme for this weeks Challenge #154 is 
Let's See Something For The Boys!

Here's my little card.

I only have one photo for you today but I think that shows all

you need to see!

The image the DT were given to work with this week is

Bowling It's A Strike

either coloured or uncoloured the choice is yours

for the princely sum of just 59p 

Wowsers!!!

It's a great little image to work with & I went off on a little search

to find just the right papers to team it up with!

I actually found a Digital Scrapbooking Kit

from Miss Mint @ Peppermint Creative

It was a perfect match as far as I am concerned!

I used the papers & elements from the kit to make a card front

using my graphics programme. (A first for me!)

I printed this out A6 size (twice) & added a bit of decoupage for some dimension.

 I then printed, coloured & cut out the ten pin image.

 I attached to the card with foam dots for more dimesion.

The only embellishments I added were some silver Card Candi.

Good Morning all,

It's Wednesday & that means it's time for a fab new challenge over at 

Dude Time Doodles!

This week we have a really fun challenge for you!

First of all here's my card!

The Challenge we have for you is Bingo!

I chose the diagonal, twine,step card,brads.

The image is Ted TightEnd

On the football field, he's a bit of a scary character but off the field, 

he's a real pussycat!

I coloured him up with promarkers & fussy cut him out,

before mounting him on to the card with foam squares for dimension.

The card base was made using an A4 sheet of cardstock.

I used a Pop Out Step Card Template from 

Debbie Lauder over at Craftystash

It's so simple to use & saved on waste too, as there is an elements sheet included!

The papers I have used were a freebie download by Shabby Princess

I think they are fantastic & they were just what I wanted for this card!

I printed the striped paper directly on to the card stock & printed 

the template on the reverse.

I cut it out using a craft knife & ruler then embossed the fold lines 

with an embossing tool & ruler.

I added the sentiment to the panels in my graphics programme. 

The font I have used is called Collegiate & you can download it free from here!

I distressed all of the panels with a red inkpad before assembling the 

card & added twine & brads from my stash.

I have to say I was really happy with the way this one turned out!

Woo Hoo We're Back!

Woo Hoo, it's Sunday & we're back!!!

It's finally time for the first challenge of 2012 over at 

The Crafty Pad!

The theme for our challenge #153 is New Year Sparkle!

The design team were asked to make a project using one of the latest

Crafty Pad images, Lulu with Cake!

She's a delightful little lady & look at that cake!

She's on Special Offer too at just 59p!!!

I made an A6 gatefold card.

I used a piece of green A5 cardstock for the base.

Scored & folded then added matts of "Celebrations" patterned paper

 from The Paper Cellar to each panel, inside & out.

I coloured little Lulu up with my promarkers & added more than 

a touch of Diamond Sparkles. 

I then cut her out with an oval Nestie, inked the edges with an Ink It Up 

ink pad & added more glitter too.

I matted the image onto a scalloped oval, cut from the green card!

I cut out the sentiment ticket 

(A Freebie on the challenge blog this week)

then edged with the ink pad & glitter before matting 

onto the green card.

This is a close up of the mulberry paper roses which I added glitter to.

Not sure you can make it out very well & the pic does look a bit odd 

as there's a bit of glare from the glitter!

Next I added the computer generated greeting,

which I made using the same font as the sentiment ticket(Vivaldi)

The little black circle you can see is a magnet which is used to keep the card closed.

It's the first time I've used these & I'm really happy with the result!

Here's a close up of the greeting which I cut out with the oval nestie & 

matted on to a scalloped oval of the green cardstock!

I added a few little self adhesive gems just to keep the theme going!

Vladimir is trying to woo his lady but I'm not so sure he's got it right....

Every time I look at him I start singing Bad Love (Eric Clapton) lol

I used my trusty Promarkers to colour up the imge.

The papers are from the 5 Valentine Roses Backing Paper Set at 

Cardmaking Downloads.

The ribbon roses are from my stash.

The edges were all inked with a Colour Q Cats Eye ink pad.

I decorated the inside of the card too!

The sentiment was computer generated. The font I've used is

Chiller & you can download it here for free!

(There you go, a free digi & a free font!!! Whatcha waiting for???)

I had a scrap of the checked paper left & I just had to use it up!

Oh Dear Oh Deer!

Hey Folks hope you're all well!

I have another little card for you to see!

Some of you may have had a bit of a sneaky peek of it the other day when 

Mr Blogger decided to play tricks on me!

Moving swiftly on..........

Here's my card!

It's a scalloped rocker card

The base was cut using a Grand Nestabillities Scalloped Circle die

& is topped with a Nellie Snellen Scalloped Circle. 

These were cut from pearlescent white cardstock

The Reindeer is a Sizzix Die which I believe is no longer available!

The collar is part of the Sizzix Die & I added his eye & red nose using Glitter Glue

The greeting & stars are little stickers & the ribbon I have used is

 upcycled from a new top!

Quite a simple little card but I like it a lot! I hope you do too!

Is It Snowing???

Hi all,

I wanted to share this little couple with you! 

Such a sweet image from The Crafty Pad Designs!

I made this card for a neighbour & forgot all about posting it 

until I was doing a tidy up on my laptop!

Here is my card!

I opted for a fairly simple white on white theme,

with embossed panels which were matted onto some purple craft paper.

The base card is a shaped 5x5in card blank.

I coloured the image with a mix of 

Sakura gel pens & promarkers.

I cut the image out with a Nestie die which matches the shape of the card,

added a computer generated greeting, some self adhesive gems & a ribbon bow!

This year I think I'll try to get ahead & make more Christmas cards as I go!
