Happy Freebie Wednesday! Only Real Men Can Wear Pink!

Good Morning all!
It's the second Wednesday of the month & it's Freebie Challenge time over at
The prize?
You could be a guest designer with the Dudettes for a whole month!
Oh what fun you'll have!
I can tell you the freebie is amazing!
Here's what to do!
Stop by the challenge blog, collect the freebie & create something
awesome with it.
Don't forget to add a little pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
No pressure then! lol
Link up your creation via the linky tool!
You have one week to do it!
Send your friends to the challenge blog to collect the freebie too & add to the fun!

Without further ado, here's my card

It's a napkin fold card. I apologise for the photo quality but
the lighting was poor!
The colours look a bit off but they are actually really nice!
I see my folds are not quite as crisp as they could be either! lol
The base is made using a sheet of 12 x 12 double sided design paper.
This particular paper came from Lidl!
I use their plain craft paper a lot for matting & layering.
The quality is quite good & it's great value!
The wrap to hold it together is cut from a sheet of plain paper,
just a little bit bigger than A4 & is secured at the back with DST
I then tied two strands of bakers twine(pink & green)
around & finished with a bow.

This is the card open! Eyegor is reavealed!
You may notice I'm really keeping to the Pink theme for October,
Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Did you know that men get Breast Cancer too?
300 men per year are diagnosed in the UK alone!

Here's a bit of a closer look!
I coloured the image with Promarkers & matted him onto a layer of silver mirror card
then another pink design paper from Southfields
Another silver layer, then the white is actually a square card blank!
I wanted to do it that way so I could write the greeting inside!

An even closer look at Eyegor the handsome devil that he is!
I printed the sentiment directly underneath. The font I used is Jack Lantern BB
& you can download it for free here

This pic is of the other side of the DP & The base of the card!
I took the inspiration for this card from my new friends over at

Vintage Sunday!

Morning all & A Very Happy Sunday to you!
This week at The Crafty Pad for
Challenge #142 Vintage
We want to see your Vintage Projects!
Now Vintage isn't a thing I do very often but I did have fun with this one!
When I started, I had something totally different in mind but hey ho, that was not to be!
Here's what I came up with!

It's a simple little A6 white linen card as the base.
I added a matt of brown craft paper them a matt of the text paper,
which I had scrumpled up then attacked with some distess inks in
Antique Linen & Fired Brick!
I added a diagonal cut section of Core'dinations cardstock.
I then added a section of design paper from Papermania
Next was the netting which I let hang over the edges of the card as I like the effect!
I cut a little slot in each side to allow the ribbon to be threaded through!
This week we were given the Dress Form Trio set to work with!
These are fab images & are great fun to work with!
I have to say this card is truly vintage as the text paper I have used is from a
Complete Works of  Shakespeare book which is very old!
I did check before I used it that it's not a valuable book!

I printed out the dress form on to some Core'dinations cardstock
then tore around the image. I fixed it using foam tape for a bit of dimnsion.
The With Love sentiment ticket is from The Crafty Pad Designs also!

The fab fluffy flower is one of the selection I got from Lee AKA A Wee Bit Of Crafty Loops!
Isn't it beautiful!
Sorry Lee I attacked it a bit with distress inks to tone down the colour al little!
I must remind you all Lee had awesome candy on her blog!
I added a little ribbon detail behind the flower as well as a couple of feathers & home made stick pin!
A few little pearls in two of the corners to finish off & it's done!
I was very pleased with the results!
I hope you'll have time to join in the challenge & show us your vintage makes this week over at
Need more inspiration?
Pop right on over to the challenge blog & see the awesome work of the other DT members!

In The Pink??

Good Morning all!
It's Wednesday & as you know, that means a new DT card from me for the
The theme this week is
Think Pink!
Many people are unaware that Breast Cancer can affect men as well as women!
300 men a year are diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the UK alone!
Early detection leads to early treatment & a better survival rate!
To help raise awareness,
we want to see your Dude's cards featuring Pink!
Here's my card!

As soon as I heard the theme, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!
A Christmas, Tri Shutter Card, featuring the wonderful
Santi Beaches
I used a sheet of Pink A4 card stock for the base of my card!
The design paper I have used is by Elaine Hayhoe & is part of a download from
I love the colour combo of this paper!

I coloured Santi using my Promarkers, in similar colours to those in the paper!
I used Woodware Fluffy Stuff on his beard & on his hat!
His sunglasses & cocktail glass have been given a coat of
Anita's 3D Clear Gloss Liquid Embossing
I then just cut the image to shape & mounted on a piece of silver mirror card.
I added a few little peel of sparkly dots to the corners on the image

On either end of the card, I added some silver elastic twine & a
silver pink & white poinsettia with a white glittery brad centre.

I made a circle sentiment in my graphics programme.
Which was cut out with an inverted scalloped circle nestie
& this too was mounted on silver mirror card.
Additional embellishments on my card are mirror card punched
Christmas trees, pink ribbons white card candi & a few pink gems.
There is also a Merry Christmas sentiment
I hope you like it & that you can find the time to enter the

It's Sunday Tick Tock!

Good Morning all!
It's Sunday already & time for an exciting new challenge at
I hope you like the theme this week,
it would be great to see lot's of entries!
So with out further ado, you may have already guessed it but ,

The ladies of the DT were given Debbie's awesome
Pocket Watch & elements from
to work with!
I have to say, this one had me puzzled for a while,
I knew what I wanted to do but it took a while & a couple of tries
before I got it right!
Then I had a job getting decent photos! lol!
Here's my card!

It's a free standing acetate pop up card!
I apologise for the reflection on the acetate, I just couldn't get any pics indoors that looked any good
& it was a bit breezy outside so the acetate was a bit wavery! ROFL!!
I printed out the image on Core'dinations card stock, cut it out & slightly distressed the edges before inking with Distress Inks in Antique Linen & Weathered Wood.

On the reverse, I again used the pocket watch image, but edited it in my graphics
programme to add some of the cog elements.
My idea was to make it look like the inside of a watch!

I added Anita's 3D glaze to the front of the watch.
I tried to distress it by cracking the glaze but I ended up with just one
big crack on one side! lol!
I added a pendulum which was actually part of a decoration which was on a candle!

The base of the card was made again using the Core'dinations card stock.
I used a Hougie board for the measurements, then distressed with the same inks as before.
The paper was from my stash. it was part of a blog candy that I won so
I have no idea where it is from but it worked perfectly for this project!
It too received the distressed with ink treatment.
I added two ticket sentiments from The Crafty Pad Designs, one to the front

& one on the reverse!
The buttons I added were from a Woodware selection bag of  buttons!
There are all sorts of fab buttons in there!

This is the card closed!
As you can see I tried to keep both sides very similar!
The only other additions are a strip of card stock along the top of the
acetate section & some sisal string which my Mum got from the local market!
I love that string, the more you touch it the fluffier it becomes!
(Thanks Mum!)

The greeting can be written on the bottom section of the card
so it will be invisible when the card is open!
I hope you like it!
I hope you have plenty of time to enter the challenge at
  The Crafty Pad this week!
Pop on over & check out the other DT examples!
I know you won't be disappointed!
Now before you go I must let you know who this weeks sponsor is!
