In The Pink??

Good Morning all!
It's Wednesday & as you know, that means a new DT card from me for the
The theme this week is
Think Pink!
Many people are unaware that Breast Cancer can affect men as well as women!
300 men a year are diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the UK alone!
Early detection leads to early treatment & a better survival rate!
To help raise awareness,
we want to see your Dude's cards featuring Pink!
Here's my card!

As soon as I heard the theme, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!
A Christmas, Tri Shutter Card, featuring the wonderful
Santi Beaches
I used a sheet of Pink A4 card stock for the base of my card!
The design paper I have used is by Elaine Hayhoe & is part of a download from
I love the colour combo of this paper!

I coloured Santi using my Promarkers, in similar colours to those in the paper!
I used Woodware Fluffy Stuff on his beard & on his hat!
His sunglasses & cocktail glass have been given a coat of
Anita's 3D Clear Gloss Liquid Embossing
I then just cut the image to shape & mounted on a piece of silver mirror card.
I added a few little peel of sparkly dots to the corners on the image

On either end of the card, I added some silver elastic twine & a
silver pink & white poinsettia with a white glittery brad centre.

I made a circle sentiment in my graphics programme.
Which was cut out with an inverted scalloped circle nestie
& this too was mounted on silver mirror card.
Additional embellishments on my card are mirror card punched
Christmas trees, pink ribbons white card candi & a few pink gems.
There is also a Merry Christmas sentiment
I hope you like it & that you can find the time to enter the

It's Sunday Tick Tock!

Good Morning all!
It's Sunday already & time for an exciting new challenge at
I hope you like the theme this week,
it would be great to see lot's of entries!
So with out further ado, you may have already guessed it but ,

The ladies of the DT were given Debbie's awesome
Pocket Watch & elements from
to work with!
I have to say, this one had me puzzled for a while,
I knew what I wanted to do but it took a while & a couple of tries
before I got it right!
Then I had a job getting decent photos! lol!
Here's my card!

It's a free standing acetate pop up card!
I apologise for the reflection on the acetate, I just couldn't get any pics indoors that looked any good
& it was a bit breezy outside so the acetate was a bit wavery! ROFL!!
I printed out the image on Core'dinations card stock, cut it out & slightly distressed the edges before inking with Distress Inks in Antique Linen & Weathered Wood.

On the reverse, I again used the pocket watch image, but edited it in my graphics
programme to add some of the cog elements.
My idea was to make it look like the inside of a watch!

I added Anita's 3D glaze to the front of the watch.
I tried to distress it by cracking the glaze but I ended up with just one
big crack on one side! lol!
I added a pendulum which was actually part of a decoration which was on a candle!

The base of the card was made again using the Core'dinations card stock.
I used a Hougie board for the measurements, then distressed with the same inks as before.
The paper was from my stash. it was part of a blog candy that I won so
I have no idea where it is from but it worked perfectly for this project!
It too received the distressed with ink treatment.
I added two ticket sentiments from The Crafty Pad Designs, one to the front

& one on the reverse!
The buttons I added were from a Woodware selection bag of  buttons!
There are all sorts of fab buttons in there!

This is the card closed!
As you can see I tried to keep both sides very similar!
The only other additions are a strip of card stock along the top of the
acetate section & some sisal string which my Mum got from the local market!
I love that string, the more you touch it the fluffier it becomes!
(Thanks Mum!)

The greeting can be written on the bottom section of the card
so it will be invisible when the card is open!
I hope you like it!
I hope you have plenty of time to enter the challenge at
  The Crafty Pad this week!
Pop on over & check out the other DT examples!
I know you won't be disappointed!
Now before you go I must let you know who this weeks sponsor is!

Evening All!

Good evening all!
Just been doing a bit of blog hopping & looking for some candy to share with you all!
At Sandra's Crafty Corner, she's celebrating 21000 hits!

The photo above is just a part of what's on offer!
Make sure to pop over & check it out if you haven't already!
You have until the 18th October to enter!
Good Luck!

I'm Getting Married In The Morning....

Well actually, no I'm not! I did that a long time ago! lol
The song just came to me when I began to write this post so I thought I'd make it my title!
Okay, so you've probably guessed by now,
I have a Wedding Card to share with you today!

I used a scalloped square card blank as the base for my card!
The Image is from a collaboration kit at Stitchy Bear Stamps!
I got this free when I spent over a certain amount!
I didn't expect it to be very exciting but when I had a look through,
I was pleasantly surprised! There's lots of lovely stuff in there!
The paper I have used is from my stash & has been in there for a long time!
I decided to use this one as the bride is fond of poppies!
The plain paper is not quite as vibrant as it looks in the photos!
The layout is from my sketch folder.
I coloured up the image with promarkers, cut out with a nestie then inked
around the edge with a promarker before adding lots of
Diamond Sparkles to the edge & to the image!

The flowers are from Sweetpeapolly's Crafty Things & the leaves
are punched out using my woodware leaf punch.

The sentiment was made on my pc & treated in the same way as the image.
I added a home made posh pin & a little ribbon bow

I don't know why, but I didn't take a close up pic of the image
so I apologise for that but if you click on the pics, they should enlarge for you!
I added a few little gems just to finish it off!
As you can just about see I've decorated the inside of the card
to match!

Because the flowers made it difficult to fit the card in an envelope,
I made a little box for it!
I lined the box with tissue paper, added a little matching tag &
a little flower detail to the top!
Thank you so much for looking!
I hope you like it!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges
Paper Crafting Journey Die Cuts and or Punches
Shelly's Images Tic Tac Toe (I did the diagonal Flowers Free Bling)

Morning All!
It's Wednesday & that means a new card for the
Dude Time Doodles Design Team!
As it's time for the new images to be released into Dudeville &
we have a little blog hop to showcase them for you!
If you arrived here from NanaConnie you're on the right track!
If not don't worry, there's a list of the hop order below!
As ever, the hop is a circle hop with no true beginning & no true end so you can jump in anywhere!
Here's my card!

This is Babe Watcher!
An Adonis of a lifeguard! lol
You can see by the cut of his jib, he fancies himself as a bit of a ladies man!
I used an A5 card blank & added a matt of brown craft paper.
The digital papers I have used are from My Grafico, Two Peas In A... Set
I love these papers & use them a lot!
I tend to print them out onto light weight matt photo paper as I like the results I get.
I coloured the image with Promarkers, cut out with a nestie & matted onto craft paper.
I added some 3D Glaze to his sunglasses.

The sentiment was made on my PC using the Beach Type Font,
which you can download free here!

Embellishment wise, I added some Raffia, a couple of tiny sea shells
 & this fab anchor button.

This is the inside of the card!
So, after all that, you'll want to hop on to Lynn

My Lovely Flowers!

Last week I received a parcel in the mail!
It contained these little beauties!

A whole host of different hand made flowers!
Awesome are they not?
I never seem to have the time to play about & learn how to make my own flowers!
So, having seen some of Lee's fantastic creations on her blog
I asked her if she'd kindly make some flowers for me. For a small fee of course!
I'm afraid the photo just doesn't do them justice but I didn't want to start taking
them all out of their packages as that's when they get dirty or damaged!
Some of you may have already seen one of the flowers on my DT card for
The Crafty Pad Stitching Challenge this week!
I just couldn't wait to use it!

I can tell you it has already been well admired!

Each flower is hand made from scratch by Lee. They are all beautiful
& so very well made! I also received far more than I expected!
Thank You so very much Lee!
Look out for them on my projects!
I will let you know when I use Lee's flowers & add a  link back to
her blog whenever I do. The best news is that she has a candy give away
running right now, so you can enter & try to win
some of these little beauties for yourself!
If you make your own flowers there's also something in the bundle for you!
Check out her awesome blog, candy & tutorials here!

Mid Way Reminder!

Just a little reminder that the Challenge over at Dude Time Doodles this week is "Hero's"
We want you to showcase your hero!

Here's the rules:

1. Use the photo / color inspiration and Dudette creations above to get your mojo moving.

2. You are not required to use BDD images although it would make us really really happy and
giggle a lot if you did!

3. MUST be a masculine themed card, you can use humor, innuendo, be a little naughty,
sarcastic, but it has got to be for a DUDE!

4. Be sure to use the InLinkz below to submit your creation.

Now it's your turn.  Showcase your heroes.  Tell them thank you and show them how proud of them you are!!

Now there aren't many entries in there yet!
So if you can play along, you stand a good chance of winning!
Pop on over & check it out!
There are also a few little tips from the DT on how to tackle cards for men!

I Sew Hope Your Sunday Will Be A Good One!

Good Morning Beautiful Bloggers!
I do sew hope your Sunday will be lovely!
This week, challenge #140 at The Crafty Pad is
"Stitching"
We want to see stitching on your card!
Real Stitching, Faux Stitching, or Sewing a Button On !
That's the challenge! Now it's up to you!
Here's my card!

We The Crafty Pad DT were given the fab Sewing Machine Image, Elements &
Sentiments to work with! You can check these out here!
I printed off the sewing machine & ticket sentiment & was trying to decide
what to do with them when a black square card blank fell in front of me!
I kid you not, it jumped from somewhere out of the jumble that is my stash as
I sat there on the living room floor, my crafty space!! lol! Karma!!
I already knew the papers I wanted to use, I've had them in my stash forever
& have used tiny bits of them here & there!
I cut them & matted & layered, adding some lace around the outside of the
second layer & added some faux stitching.
Next I added a round doily which I inked with distress ink.
I fussy cut  the sewing machine, cut out a second bobbin for the top of the
machine, wrapped some cotton thread around it before mounting it with
pinflair glue. Once the glue was dry I took the thread around the rest of the
machine as if it was actually threaded ready to sew!
I then faux stitched around a scalloped circle diecut,
Next I cut out a little bit of fabric & did some tiny hand stitches to look like the machine was actually stitching.
I also added a little posh pin I made, using the tutorial by the lovely Leesa here

It's not clear in the photo but I lightly inked the sentiment ticket with
the same distress ink & attached with pinflair glue

finally apart from the images of course, the piece de resistance
The Flower! Yes, it is handmade but no, not by me I have to admit!
It's made by a crafty friend of mine Lee & I'll tell you about it in another post!
So, thank you so much for sparing the time to look at my little card!
I hope you like it & you can find time to join in The Crafty Pad Challenge this week!
I did also decorate the inside of the card to match the front but unfortunately
I forgot to take a photo of it I'm sorry!

This card was made with the following challenges in mind
