Born To Run!.....Or Is It Leap?

Good Morning all!
Happy Wednesday all!
Are you ready for a  Blog Leap?
As it's the 29th of February, we've decided to Leap instead of Hop!
Yep, it's time to show off the newest arrivals in Dudeville Hollow!
AKA Dude Time Doodles
Meet Jon Jogger!
He ran all the way from the UK to Dudeville
& he never looked back!!!
Wonder what he was running from???
Do you think it might have been an unwelcome proposal???
It is the 29th of february after all!!! lol

When I was colouring Jon up, I was singing Bruce Springsteen's
Personally, the only running I have ever done is for a bus! lol

If you've landed here from the wonderfully talented Anne, you're on the
right track for the Leap! If not, just keep Leaping & you will
get around all the blogs! It's a circle Leap with no beginning & no end.

So now. if you're anxious to get on with the Leap, pop on over & visit
our Kevin, the only Dude among the Dudettes!
Before you rush off though, don't forget about the mystery host!!!
Make sure you leave a comment each time you Leap as one of us
will have an image to give away to one lucky commenter!

Here's a bit more about our man Jon!
Although now resident in Dudeville Hollow
Jon is still flying the flag of his homeland!!
I made an A6 Easel Card. The Design Papers are from Southfield Stationers.

I coloured Jon with my Promarkers & I added some Anita's 3d Glaze to
his eye & the beads of sweat. Shame you can't really see it on the photo!

I threaded some ribbon through the card & made a little rosette out of
seam binding & buttons from my stash which I stuck to my card using
pinflair glue to give some dimension.
The stop is the front section of the base which was raised
also using pinflair glue

I added some ribbon and a Sentiment Ticket to the stop.
This was also coloured with Promarkers

Here's an angle view just to let you see the construction!
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have time to Leap round all the stops!
If you get a bit lost, pop on over to the challenge blog & take it from there!
Oh yes, forgot to say, when this post goes live I'll be snuggled up
getting my beauty sleep! Goodness knows I need all I can get!!!
I'll change the links when I get up in the morning so they take you
directly to the Blog Leap posts & not just the blogs!

Flutterby Butterfly!

Hi all,
I have a different kind of card to share with you today!!
It's an acetate stepper card!
I can't claim all the glory for it as I saw a tutorial here & basically cased the idea!
I am rather pleased with it, as it the recipient

I made it for a variety of reasons which I won't go in to
but the main purpose was to raise a smile & let someone know
I am thinking about them!!
The card, butterflies & sentiment are all Hunkydory.
The Acetate is 220gsm

If you look closely, you can see that the butterflies all have acetate wings.

The ribbon was from my stash & I tied a triple bowin the best
Jak Heath stylie!

A side view for a better look at the construction!
Thanks for looking!
As this is a kit card I don't think I'll enter it in any competitions
but I just wanted to share it with you all!

Something Recycled!

Hey all!! It's Sunday!
Hope everyone is well & raring to go with the new challenge over at
The Crafty Pad
The Theme for Challenge #159 is
Use Something Recycled

Here is my card

I used Sammy Scarecrow one of my many favourite images from
He's just so cute & I thought he was perfect for a recycled theme!
Just look at what he's wearing!!!
Now, what have I used that is recycled?????
My base card is made from a sheet of black card which was
inside the box my hubby's posh shirt came in at Christmas.
I scored & cut it down to make a 5x5" card
My image & ticket were printed onto a piece of card from my scrap box,
it has a DP printed on the reverse.
The beanstalky type panel is part of a box which contained
one of these posh room sprays.
Finally the fantastic button is from the button box that I was given
by a friend & was labelled
"Wool Jacket"
I'm so delighted with that box of buttons!!!

I coloured the image up with my promarkers, then cut him out with a nestie!
As it was the largest Nestie in the set, I traced around the outside to make a matt.
There's a fair bit of distressing going on around the edges & some faux stitching!
The Design Paper is from Bo Bunny Ad Lib Collection

Here's that fab button!!
I added some baker's twine which I tied in a bow after
threading through the button

& is another one of my faves!

I decorated the inside of the card with some leftover scraps!

Just a final little photo of my card from the side!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
I hope you like it & I hope you like the

Vintage/Shabby Chic & Not For A Dude!!!

Good Evening All,
I have a ladies card to share with you today!
I made it a little while ago, but I couldn't post it at the time as the
recipient hadn't received it yet!
It was made for someone associated with a
Theatre Group Costume Department
Hence the Shabby Chic Theme!

.

The image I've used is one of the Dress Form Trio images from
Deborah Moore at The Crafty Pad Designs.
It's so versatile & suitable for many occasions!
The sentiment was created in my graphics program.
The base card was a brown 5x5 square card blank.
I added a matt of Cored'inations card which I tore around the edges
& rubbed with some Distress ink in Antique Linen.
Next I added a page from a very old book of
"The Works Of Shakespeare"
(I checked it's not valuable before I started to tear out the pages!)
This page is from The Taming Of The Shrew!
It was also subjected to the distress ink treatment after
being crumpled then flattened out again!
I added a little piece of lace edging which was also distressed with ink.

The flower is one of a big package I received from Lee aka Crafty Loops
a while back! Her flowers are absolutely fantastic!
You'll see them popping up on my projects from time to time!
Just under the flower is a little metal measuring tape charm

I also added a pair of scissors with a tiny safety pin & a couple
of buttons just to finish the card off!
I hope you like my card!
I was really chuffed that the person I made it for was delighted!

Since you've stopped by, don't forget to enter my candy draw here
