I do sew hope your Sunday will be lovely!

This week, challenge #140 at The Crafty Pad is

"Stitching"

We want to see stitching on your card!

Real Stitching, Faux Stitching, or Sewing a Button On !

That's the challenge! Now it's up to you!

Here's my card!

We The Crafty Pad DT were given the fab Sewing Machine Image, Elements & 

Sentiments to work with! You can check these out here!

I printed off the sewing machine & ticket sentiment & was trying to decide 

what to do with them when a black square card blank fell in front of me!

I kid you not, it jumped from somewhere out of the jumble that is my stash as

 I sat there on the living room floor, my crafty space!! lol! Karma!!

I already knew the papers I wanted to use, I've had them in my stash forever 

& have used tiny bits of them here & there!

I cut them & matted & layered, adding some lace around the outside of the 

second layer & added some faux stitching. 

Next I added a round doily which I inked with distress ink.

I fussy cut  the sewing machine, cut out a second bobbin for the top of the

 machine, wrapped some cotton thread around it before mounting it with 

pinflair glue. Once the glue was dry I took the thread around the rest of the 

machine as if it was actually threaded ready to sew! 

I then faux stitched around a scalloped circle diecut, 

Next I cut out a little bit of fabric & did some tiny hand stitches to look like the machine was actually stitching.

I also added a little posh pin I made, using the tutorial by the lovely Leesa here

It's not clear in the photo but I lightly inked the sentiment ticket with 

the same distress ink & attached with pinflair glue

finally apart from the images of course, the piece de resistance 

The Flower! Yes, it is handmade but no, not by me I have to admit!

It's made by a crafty friend of mine Lee & I'll tell you about it in another post!

Here's my little card!

It's a little foldback card, made using a download from Craftystash!
If you haven't visited before, stop over & see some of Debbie Lauders lovely designs.
I printed the card directly on to pearlised card, I thought this would complement the lovely soft colours!
I then cut it out using my craft knife & some very sharp decoupage scissors.
Next I lightly inked the edges with a pink ink pad then assembled
using pinflair glue to add dimension to the layers!

My Hero!

 Good morning all!

It's Wednesday! Happy Hump Day to you all! 

By this afternoon we'll be on the downhill run to the weekend! Yay!

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love 

Friday & the promise of the weekend ahead!

Anyhoo back to business!

It's time for a new challenge over at Dude Time Doodles!

This weeks challenge, is an inspirational/colour challenge & the theme is

"Hero"

Look at all those fab heros in the photo! They all hang out in Dudeville

Awesome are they not!

So, who is your Hero? 

Well, apart from my Dad (of course), my husband is my Hero!

Shhhh don't tell him he might get big headed! lol

It's our wedding anniversary soon, so I made this card for him!

 

It's a little double pocket tag card!

(It's a bit of a chuckle really as he is not a morning person at all & is 

not worth abutton before he has his morning coffee poor soul!)

I've never made one of these card before & have always been in awe of them 

but now I know how, they are oh so simple to do!

I used an A4 sheet of plain white cardstock for the base card.

I scored, cut & folded the card & then cut some design paper to fit.

(I can't think for the life of me where it's from right now but 

I'll have a think & try to update later!)

 Before sticking the card together, I did a bit of paper piercing 

& added some faux stitching with a white gel pen.

I then stuck together & added some ribbon & button detail 

as well as the sentiment which I made on the pc & cut out with a 

Nellie Snellen frame it die then inked the edges with distress ink.

As you can see I added two tags, one before coffee & one after! lol

 

The tags have been kept simple! I cut them out using a sizzix tag die

& backed with a co-ordinating card stock.

I coloured the images with Promarkers.

This is Rough Night Rodney

( I left his legs quite pale deliberately! lol)

I added a few splodges around his head, inked the edges with distress ink 

then added co-ordinating ribbon

This is the after image Henry Hero much more like it huh!

Such a handsome chap!

I may add a little gift card later but 

I have added a little gift of a coffee bag for now!

Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend?

Ooooh! Happy Sunday All!

This is a holiday weekend here in Edinburgh & as I worked on Saturday,
 I'm going to make the most of my Monday off!

I might even have a little lie in!!!

As you know, every Sunday, it's time for the new challenge at 

The Crafty Pad!

This weeks theme is Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend!

We want to see diamonds (well gems!lol) on your project!

Here's my card.

lol! I made a Diamond Top Card!

We are sponsored this week by the lovely Joanna Sheen

The team have used Belinda in Reflection this week.

I think you'll agree she's a little gem of an image!

I coloured her up with Promarkers then cut her out with a Nellie Snellen die.

I added a couple of diamonds to Belinda's hat & top  & did the same on her reflection

I added some punched leaves which I layered up then topped with a little flower

to which I added a little gem at the centre

The papers I have used are Papermania as are the gems. 

The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You & is coloured with  promarkers &
matted on to a diamond of the design paper

I mounted the sentiment diamond using foam squares &
then added more of the punched leaves  around it!

Ths picture shows the fold used to create the Diamond Top card.

 looks tricky but it's so easy to do!

As I type up this post & look at the pics, I notice I forgot to put the diamonds 

on the corners of the top section of my card! (Silly Billy!)

I was in such a rush to get halfway decent pics while it was dry!

Hi all,

It's Wednesday again & that means a Dude Time Doodles DT Card from little old me!

This weeks challenge is to use the freebie, which is available only on 

Dude Time Doodles, to create a  project for a Dude!

It can be anything you want it to be as long as you use the freebie provided!

The prize? 

Win a DT spot with the awesome Dudettes for a whole month!

They're such a great bunch of gals to work with & we have a whole lotta fun!

Here's my card!

I can tell you this little demon "Billy Bat" would not behave for me! 

He was one determined little dude

& just would not do what I wanted him to do!

This was meant to be a little round easel card but nope!

I coloured him up with promarkers but he didn't want to be the 

colours I wanted to make him!

No siree bob he wanted to be green!

So green it was!

This is just a simple little A6 size black card blank!

I cut an aperture using a scalloped circle nestie

then added some orange glitter around the edge!

I cut out the image with a smaller nestie & inked the edges with distress ink.

I cut a bigger circle from a spooky DP set by Jak Heath & mounted 

the image in the centre on foam pads!

Inside the card, I added a matt of white card which I also edged with ink.

I then added the image so it would show through the aperture.

This is the card open & you can see I added the word Boo, 

which was cut from another paper in the spooky set,

just for a bit of interest! 

This was cut using the Sizzix Summer Block Alphabet Die

On the outside I added some Card Candi in Halloween colours,

as well as a B & some googly eyes.

I also added a little pumpkin charm which I hung on some jump rings,

 this allows it to dangle in the aperture, & a little purple bow!

So that's my card! Nice & simple in the end,

after I stopped trying to fight with his nibs!

Goodbye Summer?

Morning all!
Firstly may I say that 10 years on, 9/11 is still fresh in my memory & my thoughts & prayers are with all those who were affected by the  terrible events of that day!

Now, on a cheerier note!

I'm off out for lunch later, with my recently married niece.

I'm looking forward to hearing hear all about the honeymoon &
the other woman who muscled in on it!

The image we have all used this week is Jeremy Popping Round!

He's such a cute little guy isn't he!

I used a square card base, coloured him up with Promarkers

& matted & layered some Papermania papers for my layout!

I had a little attempt at making some flowers using my Tim Holtz die

(don't laugh)

I used two different pieces of thick tissue paper with a brad at the centre

& added a bit of ribbon detail
