Mum's Birthday Card

Thought I would share the card I made today for Mum's Birthday with you!
I was going to make her card with an image of Bo Peep from Sassy Cheryl  (she has recently, in her 70's, started learning to shepherd with her border collie) until she made a throw away comment the other week about one day having a mobility scooter with her dog in the basket! After that I just had to use another image that I spotted on Just Inklined!

The image is called Renie & Scrappy, I think it's hilarious,
I just hope Mum does too!!!!
I  made an easel card with it! The image was coloured with promarkers.
The background was chalked.
The papers were from my stash which I have vowed to use up (Lol) before I buy anything else!
They were from Do Crafts but not sure what they're called!
The little 'unique' ticket stubs were a Freebie from Sentiments 4 you
I have looked at these many times & wanted to use them, this just seemed
the ideal project as my Mum is indeed unique!

For the sentiment on the stop I used the same ticket stub but I added a text box & wrote my own greeting! I also added a bit of lace & some funky fibres!

ATCs

Hi, thought today I'd share some ATC's with you. Firstly my returns from the October swap over at Cardmaking Downloads Forum. The theme was recycled & I posted what I made earlier.

Now for the amazing returns I received today!

Firstly Dairy Milk by Ali (Recycled easter egg packaging)

Next Flower Pot by Jean (Recycled magazine, newspaper, milk bottle top and packaging as far as I can see! I(s there anything I've missed???)

Last but not least Recycled by Marian (Recycled Birthday Card & my fav.... recycled ribbon from a jumper!)

Ali is very generous & always makes a RAK for taking part. This is my little beauty, Scarecrow in Autum. I think you'll agree he's  great too!!!

Ali runs a monthly ATC swap over at Ali's ATC Swap Stop. The theme for October is Harvest and/or Halloween.
I decided to opt for Halloween as I had some free Digi stamps from here & there that I was itching to use

Here is the pack!!! I used promarkers to colour the images and some chalks for the backgrounds. It was fun & games when I had to turn the house upside down looking for a promarker that I'd had in my hand one second & it was nowhere to be found the next! It finally turned up in a pencil case I has checked previously!

Boo!!!
Can't remember where I picked this great image from!
Have just had my memory jogged by my good friend Ali from over at Aqualegias Escape, that it is indeed a Just Inklined image.

Mummy!
I couldn't resist the urge to add some bandages to this one! Think he was from Just Inklined. That has now been confirmed. Thank you Ali!
Purple Wizard
I know this image is called James! He's also from Just Inklined.

Purrfect Spooks
This is one of Spyders digi's if I remember correctly! It's called Trick or Treat !

I have entered these ATCs in the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge #7

Halloween Birthday Card

I wanted to share this card with you but before I begin I must apologise for
the quality of the pics! I am still using my old camera phone as I can't
get the new screen for my other one yet!

I used a free download by Claire Gregson over at Cardmaking Downloads for this card,
it includes the backing paper. I decided to make it into an over the edge easel card.
(Hope I've got that right)

I made a computer generated sentiment which I matted onto the backing paper & then
a piece of black card which I edged with a lace border punch.

I have entered this card into the
October Competition, Spooky Theme at Cardmaking Downloads
Challenge 32 Use a Freebie at Crafty Cardmakers
Challenge 22 Free for All at Pear Tree Designs

Sunshine on Leith! The Musical

Known as "Sunny Leith", the Proclaimers wrote a song about it! Next thing you know there's a musical written around the Proclaimers music!!!

I have seen this show by the Dundee Rep Theatre group several times before but each time it's different!
A hard hitting true grit story of real life, could be set anywhere but it's set in Leith & makes reference to many of the local landmarks!
If you're not a Leither you might not get them, but it won't detract in any way from this well written  & extremely well acted gem of a show!
There is both laughter & tears as you go through real life situations with each and every one of the true to life characters!
If it comes to a theatre near you go see it!!

Happy 1st Birthday Cardmaking Downloads

Morning all!
I just had to post about the wonderful birthday party (with a difference) I was at last night!
Such a wonderful crowd of people there, great chat, great music, nibbles, cake, drinkies and lots of dancing!
A few celebrity guests put in an appearance too! Can't tell you who but they were handsome!!!
The party was to celebrate the 1st birthday of Sammy Murphys wonderful website Cardmaking Downloads
Click on the pic to take you there!!!
It's been a quick year! I know there have been ups and downs for her along the way but it has been a real success from my point of view! Thanks & congratulations Sammy!!!
As well as the website there is a wonderful forum full of lovely ladies who are always around to cheer you up, celebrate, commiserate or generally just have a natter too!
There is a monthly card making competition which offers generous prizes, in the form of vouchers to spend on the website. Every entry gets a newly designed freebie too so it's a win win situation!
"Ah yes!", I here you say "but what was so different about the party??"
Well the difference was, this party was a "cyber party"! For those of you who have never been to one I can well recommend it! All the fun of a normal party without the clearing up!!! Well, maybe the moderator might want to re read a few posts just to check! lol!!!!!
Well I'm off in search of something for my head!!! lol
Have a great Sunday all and thanks to all who attended the party & helped to make it a great night!!! You know who you are!!!
