Here's my card!

It's made using the Kolar's Care Package.
The sentiment is one of several that came with this delightful image!

Here's a bit of info about the cause, the images & how you can help!

cards to where they need to be!
This little blog hop is just one of several fundraisers going on at the moment.
The Digi's being showcased are by Katlyn & Deedee & are available at
There are 7 new digi sets designed exclusively for this cause.

They are in both Jpeg & PNG file formats & in a zip file.
There are various bundles available, starting at
$2 each up to $10 for all of the sets!
Great value I'm sure you'll agree!
ALL proceeds (minus Paypal fees are being donated to Operation Write Home)

Donate to help with shipping!
Operation Write Home needs your generous assistance to get the
holiday boxes shipped overseas.
You can sponsor a box for $13 or donate any amount you choose- just go to the Operation Write Home site & click on the yellow paypal button to make a gift directly right now or send in a gift with your box of cards!
Visit the website to find out more!

Now, here's a closer look at Kolar!
How cute is he packing all his well loved bones to send to a very special person!
I coloured the image up with Promarkers & cut him out with a nestie.
I liquid embossed the water with a sakura glaze pen although I'm
not sure it shows up too well in the photo!
As is required by Operation Write Home the card is USA A2 size
( 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" that's approx A6, UK)
They prefer you not to use glitter or bulky embellishments.
The papers I've used are from my scrap stash &
I have matted thoseon to brown craft paper.
I kept the layout fairly simple & embellished with a strip of
chocolate brown satin ribbon from my stash & some
punched & layers butterflies cut from the papers I used.

The inside of the card has a matt of brown craft paper & the green card
I have left the inside of the card blank for a message to be hand written!
I hope you like it & you can pop on over to K 'n K Designs to get your images or
Operation Write Home to donate or send some cards!
Thanks for stopping by!
Now your next stop on the hop will be the lovely & very talented Michelle  who I'm sure
will have something awesome waiting for you!
I've just heard that two lucky hoppers who comment along the way will win a digi prize pack from
K 'n K Designs be sure to check Deedee's Blog on Monday to see if you have won!

What an Inspiration!

Good Morning all!
It's the 3rd Wednesday of the month & that means,
it's time for an Inspirational Challenge at
Here is your Inspiration!

Fantastic eh!
I know for sure the Dudettes & our GDT Dude Kevin loved this one!
I'm sure we are all aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
For that reason, the Dudettes (& our Dude's) cards have all had
a touch or more of pink this month!
So continuing in that vein, we'd like you to create something for a Dude
using the photo above for your inspiration!
Here's my card!

If you haven't met her before, let me introduce you to
(Available from Dude Time Doodles & on special offer too!)
She's a real stunner of a Super Hero & is out there promoting
 Breast cancer Awareness to all!
Her message is one of encouragement to all out there who are fighting this terrible disease!
Some of you may still not be aware that men can get Breast Cancer too!
Well her message to those Dudes is clear!
"Fight Like A Girl!"
I know a quite a few Super Hero's who have fought the fight & are here to tell the tale!
I also know a few who are travelling the Pink Road as we speak!
They are all Fighting Like Girls!!!
So, on to my card!
The base is a little pre printed, pre scored card blank which,
I wasn't sure I'd ever use but I think it's just perfect for this card!
The zebra print papers are from the Trendy Girl set at Scrapbooking Mad.
I matted the papers & image on to plain black craft paper
The layout was my own.

Here's Breast cancer Awareness Girl a bit closer!
I coloured her up with Promarkers & added a few accents with
a white gel pen & a Sakura Clear star pen.
Just look at those peepers!

The flowers were punched & then embossed to add a bit of dimension.
I mounted them on foam pads to make them pop!
I added a different sized black gem to each!
The little flourishes are die cut using a Marianne Creatable Die.

The sentiment comes as part of the set!
There are several to choose from but I thought this one was ideal for this card!
Let's hope you can find the time to enter the challenge
It would be awesome to have you there!
As ever, I'd like to enter my card in a few challenges

Fishin' In The Dark

Good Morning all!
I hope you're looking forward to a relaxing Sunday! I know I am!
It's time for the new challenge at The Crafty Pad!
This weeks sponsor is

They are offering the latest copy of the magazine which is the Christmas edition,
due out on Friday 28th October & a Goody Bag as the prize!

This week, the theme for challenge #143 at The Crafty Pad week is
"Monochromatic"
We want to see your monochromatic creations!
Here's the definition from an online dictionary

mon·o·chro·mat·ic  (mn-kr-mtk)
adj.
1. Having or appearing to have only one color.
2. Of or composed of radiation of only one wavelength: monochromatic light.
3. Done in monochrome: monochromatic prints and paintings.
4. Of or exhibiting monochromatism.

Here's my creation

The DT were given Debbie's wonderful Albert Snoozing image to work with!
He looks like a real happy chap snoozing away!
I was tempted to add a few z's but resisted! lol
Now when I looked at Albert I thought he has to be night fishing.
(Got me singing the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band song Fishin' in the dark in my head!)
That explains my colour choice!
Well that & the fact that purple is my favourite colour! lol
The lay out was a sketch from last weeks challenge at Sketch Saturday
I knew the challenge would be closed by the time I blogged my card
but I just loved the sketch!
I distressed all the layers & inked the edges with distress inks.
I used cored'inations cardstock for the majority of the layers, one of which I
embossed using a Cuttlebug Bubbles embossing folder.
I pierced around each layer & added some faux stitching with a white gel pen.

So this is Albert Snoozing a little bit closer up!
I coloured him up with Promarkers & tried to make him look kind of grey,
like it was night time. I added a few stars in the night sky with a Sakura Clear Star pen.
You can just about make them out!

The Sentiment ticket is from The Crafty Pad too!

My fiinishing touches were a couple of buttons from my jar, one of which I threaded
with bakers twine, tied a bow & then cut the loops.
I hope you like my little card & are inspired to join in the
Monochromatic challenge at The Crafty Pad this week!
Hope to see you there!
