Retirement Card for Mums Friend

Mum's Friend, Frances, has finally seen sense & retired from her job in a care home.
She has devoted her life to looking after other people but it's now time to look after herself & we wish her a very long & happy retirement!!!
This is the card I made for her!

Not a typical image for a retirement card but Frances had a Flapper Party to celebrate her big day!
The party was originally arranged for her 60th Birthday but had to be postponed as sadly, she lost her mother that week!

I picked up the shaped card at the Hobbycrafts show in the SECC, Glasgow.
The image is printed onto Super Smooth Decoupage Paper and matted onto some self adhesive Vellum from my stash.

The image is once again Charlston Daisy from Di's Digi Downloads, coloured with my Promarkers!
I think I'm improving but still have a long way to go!
The stopper is made from some card again from my stash which I cut with a scalloped square die then cut in half, added some ribbon & a computer generated sentiment. The paper flower came from the show at the SECC too!

I have scheduled this post so hopefully as you read this I'm at Frances' house for a crafty evening with her, Mum and a friend!
Update:- We had a lovely evening & Frances was delighted with her card! Promarker sales will be well on the up!!!
I promised I would find some challenges to enter so here goes!
Hope it fits the bill, they sure had fun remembering the 20's & 30's at the party!
I Have also entered Our Creative Corner Attitude of Gratitude Challenge. We certainly are grateful for all the care Frances has given to the elderly over the years in her working life. As well as just being a lovely caring person in general!
Have also entered the Raise the Bar Challenge Lets See Those Curves The Card is curved, the corners are rounded and the stopper is scalloped! Hope it fits the bill here too!!!

She is obviously trying to generate lots more followers but you don't have to be a follower to enter!
Pop on over & see for yourself! Dawn's blog is well worth a visit candy or no candy anyway!!!

Card For A QS

My husband gave me one of my biggest cardmaking challenges yet!!! His friend from work is about to do his RICS APC and he wanted a Best of Luck card featuring several specific items!
Here's what I came up with!

I used a Stepper Card Template by Debbie Lauder, available from both Craftystash and Cardmaking downloads. This one is for personal use but there's also a Commercial Use Version available.
The rest of the card was made from pics I poached from the www. The metre stick is to scale & I made the greeting on the pc. The gold corregated card was from my christmas stash but I just thought it went well here!
OH seemed pleased with the result!
