The Luck of The Irish!

I needed a good luck card for a friend so the free digi image from Dude Time Doodles was just the ticket!

This is Shamus Shamrock!
Shamus loves to dance jigs, drink fine Irish Whiskey and flirt with the ladies. He seems to have the luck of the Irish about him. He'd like to know if you want to come out to play among the clover and rainbows with him......
For a chance to be a guest designer on their DT for April, pop on over to the Dude Time Doodles Challenge Blog to find out what you have to do!
I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday  for the layout for this card!

The image was coloured using promarkers the cut out using nesties on the Big Shot! The papers I used are from Robyn's Fettish & are called Coney Island Summers

I embossed the matt which is lightweight card using a cuttlebug embossing folder. I did the same to the green layer at the side & the matt for the sentiment too!

The sentiment was computer generated, I used a corner punch to give a bit of detail! The ribbon has been in my stash for ever! I had loads of it in all different colours!
Thanks for stopping by, I do hope you like him!

How do YOU make something look PUFFY on your project?
Our Sponsor this Week is

Make sure you pop over & check out their stuff!!! Lots of fab digi's papers, images & much  more!
This is in addition to the usual $10 Coupon for the Digi's With Attitude! store!
Here's my card!

The image I've used is "Camping Tween"
She's due to be released today in the

I coloured her up with my promarkers and I wanted to cut her out as a round image but
she just didn't fit inside any of my round cutters!
Silly me forgot to size the image properly!!!
In the end I drew around the outside edge of a scalloped nestie with a pencil & hand cut the shape!
I made my 140x140mm base card from a sheet of brown cardstock. Which has the fold at the top & stands like a tent to reflect my camping image!
For the layout I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday

I'm having such fun using sketches for layouts at the moment!

The papers I have used were very kindly given to the DT, by Stampin Dragon Designs, to play with!
I just love them & didn't hesitate to make the most of them. The papers are from two different sets (Coffee Cream used for the layout & Essentials 5 used for the fern leaves) I think they work really well together!
As you can see I made my PUFFY bit by punching out some fern leaves using my Woodware Punch and some of the DPs. I embossed them to make them curl up a bit & then simply layered them around the image, to make a leafy wreath, sticking them down as I went using my quickie glue pen!
I feel it's like looking through the trees & seeing her at her little campfire, toasting her marshmallows!
The sentiment was from Sentiments 4 You & was cut out with a scalloped circle nestie.

I coloured it with promarkes & attached with foam pads for dimension.
The only other thing I added was a couple of square gems to fit in with the sketch!
I do hope you can find the time to join in with us at Digi's With Attitude! this week!
Don't forget to pop on over & check out the other DT members fantastic cards for some inspiration!

How Old?

It's my sister in law's 50th Birthday this week! I was picking my brains about what to make but when my niece was around, looking at bits for her wedding invitations, she spotted this card that I  had already made using up some spare parts!

I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for but when she asked if it was for her Mum  & enthused about how much she'd like it, the die was cast! I like this pic as I took it in daylight! A rare treat this time of year!
I coloured the image of "Martini Gretchen" who is from Digi's With Attitude! with promarkers and punched the corners for a bit of detail. I Matted the image onto the same pink card as the base card (which is a gatefold)
I then layered that onto the striped card, catching the ribbon in between the layers.
I had to complete it  tonight so I added a couple of bits & an insert just to finish it off!

The "happy birthday's" are from a gold peel off strip which I cut up to get the bits I wanted.
The sentiment is a freebie that I picked up while blog hopping & I can't for the life of me remember who the kind soul was who shared it!!!
Update: The sentiment was from no other than the FAB Sentiments 4 You
I apologise for the quality of this photo as it was taken tonight & is really not great!
I added a linen paper insert, printed with a verse from Verses 4 Cards. Something about candles on her cake & having the puff to blow them out!!
Thanks for stopping by, I do hope you like her!
