Saturday, Hurray!!!

No card for you again today!
Finally got round to adding inserts to the ones I need for this week!
My excuse is I've been a bit poorly with a bad cold!
I'll share a photo with you instead!
This is my Great Nephew Brandyn at his 1st Birthday party!

That's Graeme my other half who's holding him!
It's a fab pic, looks like Brandyn is flapping his wings, ready to fly away!!! lol

New Home Card

I made this little card using a free digi image from

She is running a 'Not Mushroom For A Mouse, House' Challenge.
All you have to do is email Lyn & she'll send you the image. If you enter the challenge,
she'll send you another free image to enter next months challenge!
I do have to say, this card is more on the purple side than the blueish appearance it has in this pic!
I coloured the image using Whispers Markers, Promarkers and Sakura pens.
I chalked the sky and the grass at the botttom.
I cut out the letters on my Big Shot and used a corner punch on the image.
I glittered the letters using my quickie glue pen & Diamond Sparkles.
(I find it less fiddly to stick the letters down first & glitter them after.)
The ribbon was from my stash.
Have also entered this card in the

UPDATE
I was kindly voted one of 5 runners up in Spyder's Challenge! Thank you sooo much for my lovely Digi Prize! Felt like I had already won as we got a free digi just for entering!!!

A Crafty Tip For Top Tip Tuesday

Top Tip Tuesday has launched with its fab first 'top tip' today on how to make
flowers from paper doily's. They have also challenged us to share a top tip with you!
As I have previously posted my favourite 'bits of ribbon from your clothes' tip for you
I thought I'd share another one which was given to me by my Mum.
When using chalks on a project, they are prone to smudging or rubbing off.
To avoid this, just spritz over the finished project with a cheap non scented hairspray.
This will fix the chalks ensuring they stay put.
Hope you find it useful!

End of Festival Fireworks

We've just been upstairs at our bedroom window watching the fireworks
to mark the end of the Edinburgh Festival!
I have to say it was one of the best displays I have seen in a long time!
The fireworks and the music were perfectly synched!!!
We are soooo lucky to be able to see the bulk of the fireworks from home!
It's quite a squash if you go up to Princes Street!
The music by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra is broadcast on the local radio station
& we can have a lovely glass of wine into the bargain!
Well done to all involved! Spectacular display!!!
Will have a look at the pics I took on my phone but I'm guessing none will do any justice!!!
If I find one I will post it!
As I guessed, none of the pics did any justice to the fireworks but I will share a pic
from our walk this afternoon!

This chap appeared unannounced some time back, in the Water Of Leith
and for a while nobody knew where he came from.
However, after a bit it turned out that he and a few others were a gift from a famous artist.
They are metal sculptures but from a distance they look human!
Can't begin to tell you about the trouble it caused when people spotted them around the place!

Anniversary Card

I made this Anniversary card using a download designed by
 Deborah Lauder over at Craftystash
The base card is hammered card, I built up the pyramage using pinflair glue,
outlined using a marker pen matted using a tissue paper strip which I got in the pound shop!
(Always read the label, I thought I was buying sheets of tissue for gift wrapping! Doh!)
I punched out the daisies as I didn't have any flowers which were the right colour,
layerd them and attached with brads and pinflair glue.
I used a promarker to add a bit of detail to the daisies but it's difficult to see on the photo.
I then added a ribbon and a little 'handmade with love' charm to finish it off.
Have posted this card in the ACLP challenge
