Here's The Cake!

Well it's Friday again!!!
The theme for this weeks challenge is
 "Use you favourite image"
We'd love to see any new project using YOUR favourite  image.
This week we are kindly sponsored by The Cutting Cafe

who are very kindly offering a prize of "3 sets of  the winners choice", to our first winner!
This is of course in addition to the usual
Digi's With Attitude $10 Store Coupon, one for every 25 entries!
I did promise not to do a square card!!!

So here we have my favoutite Digi's With Attitude! Image, this is Grumpy Gretchen, Big Deal Birthday!
If I'm honest, I have many favourites as I really enjoy working with all the images but, this is one of the first images I got from the store & I have had soooo much fun with her!

This card is for a friend who has just celebrated her 50th Birthday but as she was a bit sensitive about her age, I didn't mention it on the outside but died on the insert!
My image was coloured with promarkers & paper pieced! I tried to stick to a monochromatic colour scheme. This is my first attempt at paper pieceing & I have to say it was lot's of fun!
I used my Sakura clear star pen to add shimmer to her eyelids, her shoes, bits of the cake & the board that the cake is on!
I punched the corners to round them off & added a matt of dove grey light weight card to which I had done the same.
The lovely Design Papers I have used were a freebie, which I think was from Joanne Barsby, ages ago & I had never got round to using them until now ( although I have to say I admired them often!!) Sorry I can't find a link to them anywhere!
For the layout I used an A5 rectangle card, to which I added a matt of the dove grey card which was
punched along the bottom edge using my Martha Stewart Punch.
I added a rectangle of one of the DPs & then I added a strip of the grey card topped with the same DP just above the punched edge using foam tape to give it a bit of height.
I then added two different sized squares of coordinating DPs which were matted onto the grey card and stuck on the diagonal to one side! I then attached the image over these! I next added computer generated sentiments & paper roses. Next was the large layered flower with the rose at the centre

& finally the round sentiment

which is from Sentiments 4 You
and was cut out using a scalloped circle nestie!
I think that's everything!!!
I hope you can find the time to add your project to the
Digi's With Attitude! Challenge!
Thanks for looking & don't forget to check out the other DT members wonderful  inspirational cards! I'm sure they'll all be very different this week!!
Big Hugs
Dawn xxx

Seeing Red!

Hi folks,
Thought I 'd share a set of ATCs with you today!
These are for the February swap over at
Ali's ATC Swap Stop.
If you're taking part & don't want to see cover your eyes & walk away from your PC!!! lol
The theme is "Seeing Red" & is open to your interpretation!
The only thing I could think about after St Valentines Day was Little Red Riding Hood!
I had to go on a search to find some images of her & I found this delightful Digi Stamp Set at
 Digital Delights!
Once again I have to apologise for the quality of the pic as it was done at work in a hurry as I had to catch the post!
I coloured the main images with promarkers & I used a variety of Sakura Glaze, white gel pen & Clear Star pens to highlight various areas on the image. As you can see thay are all the same but slightly different!
I used a corner punch before matting & layering!
I used red Mirri card for the base of the ATC & the papers are from the Valentine Rose Collection by the lovely Sammy Murphy over at Cardmaking Downloads!
If you'd like to join in the monthly swap pop on over to let Ali know & she'll give you all the details!
It doesn't matter if you haven't done it before, she'll keep you right!!!
