Altered Art & A DT Call

Good morning all!
Todays project is something a little different for me!
Over at The Crafting Cafe this month, the theme is
I haven't done much in the way of altered art but here's what I came up with!

I altered a candle by adding the wonderful image
Working The Land by the lovely Teri over at

Regular Sponsor
who is sponsoring our challenge this month!
Simples!
This is something I have been meaning to try for ages.

I changed the colour of the image in word then printed it onto some
tissue paper which I had taped to normal printer paper.
I cut around the image, leaving a border then held against the candle
& heated with my heat gun until the wax melted enough to encase the tissue.
If you try this at home remember to be careful, it's HOT!

I wanted to go with a rustic look, so I added a little magic mesh, a piece of
cotton ribbon & a layered paper flower with some punched leaves. The items
I have used have all been in my stash for years, so it's good to use them up!
Simple but effective!
I would recommend removing the embellishments before lighting the candle!

Don't forget we are running a DT call alongside the challenge this month.
If you want to be part of our fun team, all you need to do is
add DT after your name when you link up your project!

Just Inklined To Hop - A Blingy Christmas

Good morning all & welcome to the September
Just Inklined Blog Hop.

This month, our host is Lori, who has chosen the theme
 "A Blingy Christmas"
If you're already hopping, you should have come from the lovely
Gaynor's blog! I'm sure she had something rather lovely to show you!
Here's my card.

I've used pearlescent card, glitter & silver bells as my bling!
The image I have used is Snowman Buddy!
He's so totally adorable I just had to have him!
Now, your next stop on the hop is the lovely Tammy
whom I am sure will knock your socks of with her creation!
To make the hop more fun, there are 2 hidden spot prizes along the way,
chosen from those that leave comments on the blogs.
If you want to know a bit more about my card read on!

Here's a closer look at the image.
I coloured him in a little with my flexmarkers & promarkers.
I've had this card stock for so long but rarely use it!It actually works quite well
for colouring with alcohol markers.
I added s few little snowflakes which were punched from some
glitter card & added glitter to the edges of the image.

I decorated the inside a little too!

The little circles were embossed with a cuttlebug snowflake folder,
which I've had forever, then glittered around the edges.
The embossed lines were done using my score board.
Your next stop on the hop is Tammy's blog.
The hop order should you need it is as follows:
Dawn (that's me!)
 Tammy

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Mistletoe Santa

Good Morning Bloggers & a happy Saturday to you all!
What a week it's been, so glad I can put my feet up for a couple of days!
The card I have to share with you today is one for La Pashe!

This little stepper card was made using the Mistletoe Santa from the very popular
I love stepper cards as I always feel the stand out in a crowd!
The card blank is actually made by La Pashe too so that makes it all very simple.
The paper & sentiment are from the CD too!

Here's a closer look at the image!
I'm not sure if Santa is delighted or horrified! lol
As you can see I've added some tiny adhesive pearls to the mistletoe
& to Granny's necklace! The image & backing paper have been matted on to
some red foil paper from my stash!

Here's a little side view of the card.
The only other embellishment I have added is the little bow!
Not in to CD crafting? Well , here's just the thing for you!
You can buy the complete set ready printed here.
You can of course buy the sheets singly too!

Silver Fox Trot

Good Morning all!
Almost the weekend! Woo Hoo!
Time for a Just Inklined card!

I've made a 70th Birthday card for a lady who loves dancing!

The image I have used is Silver Fox Trot., from Just Inklined.
This image is also available on The Wrinklies CD Rom.
I coloured it up with a mix of flexmarkers & promarkers, cut out with a nestie
& inked the edges with Antique Linen & Spun Sugar distress inks.

The button was made in my graphics programme. It was mounted on a piece of
foam tape for some dimension. I love doing these little buttons!

I have no idea who the paper is by as it's unmarked
& came from a goody box I purchased eons ago!
I added some of my precious favourite lace from my stash, then made three little panels
which I fanned out to echo the line of her dress.  A double satin bow & a couple of
stick pins were also added just to finish it off!

I decorated the inside of the card with some of the DP & a little
panel for a message to be written.
I was just looking at this image & thinking it would also be great for a
Christmas card or perhaps New Year if teamed with seasonal papers!
Thanks for popping in!
I'd like to put this card forward for the following challenges:

Wrinklies Mistletoe Paper

Good Morning bloggers!
I have a little card to share with you today!
This one was made just for fun & there is a bit of a deliberate mistake on it!
Can you see what it is?

This is a stepper card made using the mistletoe paper from
The stepper card blank is by La Pashe.

I printed the verse (from the internet) onto some matching cream card
then used a nestie & the mat supplied to cut a frame for it!

The only other embellisment I have added is a sheer ribbon bow
with a little bell attached!
A quick, jolly & simple card made in a matter of minutes!
I don't know about you but I just love that sometimes!

Santas Tipple

Wowsers, it's Thursday already people!
I hope you are all having a good week!
Lol, I'm just thinking that my blogposts are a bit like buses!
None for ages then they all appear at once!
On to my project!
I made a card using a brand new image,
it's called Santas Tipple & is just one of the fantastic
new set of images available at Just Inklined
I think this would be a great Christmas card for a guy!
As these are pencil drawn, the lines are much softer! I totally love them all!
The paper is from Southfields Black & Silver Christmas background paper pad.
I used holographic silver mirror card & plain black card
from my stash to matt & layer.
As the lines were soft, I wanted to colour him in with soft colours.
I had a couple of ideas up my sleeve, but this is what I did!
I coloured the image with flexmarkers, adding a pop of colour
with the holly on Santas hat! He's so jolly looking & he
looks like he's looking forward to his tipple too!
The sentiment was made on my PC using a fantastic free font
called White Christmas. I wrapped some twine around the
card, added a metal snowflake which has been in my stash for
a very long time & stuck a red self-adhesive gem at the centre.
Thanks for popping by! I always appreciate your visits!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Craft Room Challenge - Something New (Image)
Cuttlebug Mania - Anything Goes Manly
Loves Rubber Stamps - Round Or Square Cards

Tag It!

Good Morning Blogland!
Another post from me today! Woo Hoo!
Over at Crafting For All Seasons, we have a brand new challenge for you!
The theme this time  is "Tag It!"
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Here's my project
Our sponsor this time is A Day For Daisies.
I used "Banana Fairy", a sponsor image.
(Sorry, their site is down for maintainence so will link when I can!)
I used Xcut scalloped heart dies to cut the tag & mats.
The letters were die cut with Sizzix First Step Alphabet dies

I printed out the image twice, coloured with a mix of Promarkers
& Flexmarkers, fussy cut around them then layered for some
dimension. The CS is from Southfield Stationers,
the gingham paper is from Carftwork Cards
The ribbon & twine is from Lidls gift wrapping section.
Thanks for popping in!
I'd like to enter my little tag in a couple of challenges:
Tammy' Scrapin' Corner - Image With Food

A Baby Is Born

Good Morning lovely blogger, I have  card to share today!
The current challenge theme over at The Crafting Cafe is
Interpret as you will, create a project & link it up so we can all
come over to visit your blog & Oooh & Ahh over it! lol
Here's my creation!

I've made a little shaker Christmas card.
The image is AKV Nativity Baby Jesus from our sponsor
The base card is 5"x5" Kraft & the papers are from my stash!
I've had them for ages but don't know who they are by as they came in a goodie box
as far as I can recall! I added some good old Peel Off borders which are
actually the waste from between bubble border strips. The little dots are
also waste from the middle of the bubbles.

Sorry about the photos but it was really windy outside where
I normally take my pics & the card almost blew away several times.
It has gotten so shaken up that the glitter has gone a bit static
& is clinging on to the acetate! lol.
There is actually a little silver fibre bow at the bottom of the shaker
window but I'm not sure you can make it out in the photo! lol
Thanks for popping by! I do hope you can play in the challenge!
