Watch Out For The Crafty Pad Showcase!

Good Morning Blog Land!
It's my turn to showcase a Crafty Pad Image to remind you all
to enter your Crafty Pad Creations in the
 May Crafty Pad Monthly Showcase.
Remember, this runs until the end of the month.

Don't have a Crafty Pad Image???
You can pick up a freebie from the Challenge Blog here

I've waited ages to share this card with you all!

I have to say I am rather pleased with this one if I say it myself!
This is the first time I've tried this out, it's an
Acetate Tent Card
& was inspired by my good friends Ali & Debbie
Thank You Ladies!

The clock face is the Pocket Watch image from this set at
I printed out  Design Papers from
onto both sides of some super smooth card.
Next I printed all of the elements out on the card.
I cut out the elements & inked using some distressed inks

Not sure if you can see it in the photo but I liquid embossed the face with
Anita's 3D Glaze, when it had dried, I put it in the freezer.
This allowed me to crack the glaze, giving a cracked glass effect

On the back, I used the pocket watch image again but I blanked out the middle
then added the birthday greeting.
You can see another Crafty Pad Designs Sentiment Ticket there too!

I made the circle sentiment in my graphics programme
The font is 1942 Report & you can get it free here
I thought this gave the card an added vintage feel.

A closer look at the sentiment ticket.

Here's an angled view.
I added some Funky fibres in co-ordinating colours.
Before I go I should also remind you of our Sponsor this month!
Who are offering this wonderful prize

Wish I could enter! lol
I hope to see you over there!

A Great Big Thank You!

Good Morning Blog land!
As it's the Team B's turn to inspire you over at The Crafty Pad this week,
I thought I would share another "Thank You" card with you!
This was made for the same lovely lady who asked for the small
"Thank You" cards a little while back!
This card is entirely different!
It was to be for all of the Ward Staff who cared for her during
a prolonged stay in Ward 6 at The Western General Hospital in Edinburgh!
The request was for a "great big card with nurses & beds etc!"
As you can see, Pink is fast becoming my favourite colour at the moment! lol

Well, I couldn't find many digis'of hospital beds,
but I did find one at Bugaboo!
In fact all the digi's on this card came from Bugaboo!
They're just great to colour up!
The card is an Anita's A4 Card Blank the quality is great & the
envelope that came with it is really sturdy too!

It was lot of space to cover but I found I was running out of space
for all the ward staff around on this one! Lol

Each of the images was coloured with Promarkers & is coloured up to
represent the various members of ward staff who looked after this special lady!
For the glasses, & anything made of glass, I added a little 3d glaze.

The design paper is a digital freebie that I picked up a long time ago.
It was designed by Joanne Barsby!
I also used a plain pink lightweight card stock to matt everything onto!
I cut out the images with various nesties & added a couple of small
panels with ribbon wrapped around just to break things up a little.
The centre panel is the same as the smaller cards I made!
I added some punched leaves which I embossed, some mulberry paper roses
& the obligatory Breast Cancer Awareness pink ribbon!

I added a little decoration to the inside of the card!
Thanks for popping in! I hope you like it!
I'm off to Feline Playful to check if this baby fits any of the
challenges tracked by them this week!
I'd like to enter:

Happy Birthday Dude!

Good Morning all!
It's Wednesday already!
Half way through the week!
Time for another fab challenge at Dude Time Doodles!
This week it's an Inspirational Challenge
Here's my card!

I made a 150mm x 150mm card blank from a sheet of yellow cardstock.
I added a matt of blue paper, then a matt of the DP from the
K&Co 12" x12" Hopscotch Pad.
I added a little pennant banner from Whimsy Stamps & added the
Happy Birthday lettering by hand using a selection of Sakura Pens.
I also added a few little buttons,
The cord tied around the top is recycled from the price tag
which was attached to a top I bought the other week.
I thought the colours fitted perfectly.

I tried to incorporate all the colours & the Birthday theme.

The looks on their faces are priceless!
I bet they were soo looking forward to cake!! lol
I coloured the image with a mixture of Copics & Promarkers,
I also matted the image onto some of the blue paper
then the yellow cardstock.

I decorated the inside of the card to match the front without the
embellishments & the image.
I have to say I was rather pleased with this one!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Now pop on over to Dude Time Doodles & see what
the rest of the fabarooney DT have created to further inspire you!

Who Told The Little Birdie!

Good morning all & a very Happy Sunday to you!
It's time for a new challenge at The Crafty Pad & once again
it's the A Team who are bringing you some inspiration!
This weeks challenge is
#170 Doodle It! We want to see doodles on your creation!!!
I'm not so hot on the doodle front I'm afraid!
Here's my card!

The image I have used is Molly Cat With Birdhouse
this little lady is what/who attracted me to The Crafty Pad a long time ago!
Funnily enough, this is the first time I've used her on a card!
When I think of this card, the song
keeps popping into my head!
I used a square card blank made from Linen Embossed cardstock.
I printed Molly onto the same cardstock & coloured
her up with a mix of promarkers & flexmarkers.
I used the flexmarker to dot some colour about around the image.
You can see it if you zoom in to the pic.
The DP's I have used are from my scrapbox & I have used a
Martha Stewart Doily border puch for the decorative borders.
I also used some sheer ribbon to make a triple bow.

Just look at little Molly, too sweet to eat that little birdie,
she actually has something she want's to tell it!
We've all heard the expression, "A little birdie told me"
Now we know who told the little birdie, it was Molly!!
(One day I might tell you the secret!!)

I also decorated the inside of the card a little!
I feel it helps with the balance of the card & is so much nicer
than just a plain old insert!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Now head on over to The Crafty Pad to see some awesome A Team Doodles!
Oh yeah, who is our sponsor this time???
It's the wonderful MeiFlower

who are offering one really lucky winner a £20 Voucher

Here's the gift bag again with the little tag I made on show!
I printed Harry out three times & coloured him up, then fussy cut each one out!
I attached two of the images to my bag, with foam dimensionals,
then cut the balloons off of the third one & added them to the tag in the same way!
The tag was cut with a Sizzix Original die!

I've attached the tag with a little piece of bakers twine.

The images were coloured with Promarkers & the DP's
are from the K & Company Hopscotch Pad!

I also added some little buttons from my stash!

Here's a closer look at the tag & images!

Harry is really soaring here!

he's already available in the store so if for some reason
you miss him, you can still buy him!

Without further ado, here's my card!

I made a Playing Card Card for my Brother In Law.
I used an A6 Linen Embossed card blank.
As you can see I added Mo the right way up, then added
him the other way up just like a face card in a pack of playing cards.
I coloured him up with a mixture of Copics & Promarkers.
I added the name to both sides of the card & just a little bit of Card Candi.
The corners of the card were rounded off with a large corner punch,
to make it look like a playing card.

On the back of the card I added a Union Jack Design Paper
from Southfield Stationers. I love their papers as they are
excellent quality & very reasonable!
The inside of the card has a simple paper insert.

Shame on you!!! lol
Don't fret, you can pick up a freebie or two from
the challenge blog here

Okay, now for my card!!!

I was asked to make a Thank You card or several as it would happen,
I won't go into the details but, here's what I came up with!

It's  a simple little A6 white linen embossed card  blank
from Southfield Stationers, with a plain white insert.
The image & sentiment are both from Bugaboo
and were just perfect for my needs!

This was such a simple make,
The image was so simple to colour,
I used a single promarker!
Then, I cut it out with an oval nestie,
matted onto a scalloped oval nestie in pink,
punched out butterflies & leaves from the scraps,
added a little pink ribbon, which began life white
but I coloured that with the promarker too.
A couple of gems to finish off & Hey Presto!
As I was making a number of  these little babies,
I rang the changes a little & played about with the colours etc
below are just a few of the others!

Hopefully these cards will also act as a reminder to the recipients
to "Check Their Boobies"!
Early Detection is so important with Breast Cancer & it's so very important
to check yourself out regularly!
That goes for the guys too!

I hope you like my little Thank You cards!
